You Did It Girl, is an empowerment anthem written by myself Sophia Degraffenreid back in March 2013. After dropping Empire Beauty College and returning back to
Dudley Beauty College, Chicago, IL.
As My 10 month Cosmetology Program Lead into 10 years. I did not let a time contract stop my journey. I had no quit in ME. I was determined to obtain My cosmetology license and COMPLETE a program I had started and was committed too complete it! No matter how long it took Me, no matter what adversities, came my way and no matter how many children I birthed doing the 10 year Season going to hair school. I was not giving up.
After such a long journey to completing My cosmetology program. I felt a need to share my testimomy and start a U Did It Gurl Empowerment Network. Bringing awareness to mental health and mental illness. While giving others a platform to share their journey on mental health recovery. I wanted to make sure the everyone knew, No matter how long it takes You, Keep on Your journey until you complete. Because true success starts with in Your Mind.
